I have the same problem. Cleaned the printheads several times and replaced the cartridge. Everything prints except black.

I have tried all of these steps you provided multiple times. I have tried sending a document from the computer. I have tried copying a document in black ink. Everything prints BUT black.  I have replaced the FULL ink cartridge with a brand new one. I have unclogged vents, I have cleaned print heads multiple times,  upgraded firmware, downloaded software. Diagnostics say it is working fine. Tried aligning, tried printing test pages, etc, etc, etc. all colors print, black does NOT print.  The printer was working fine, the black ink was low, so I put in a new, genuine HP cartridge ( I have  never used anything BUT genuine cartridges). The printer detected the new genuine cartridge and proceeded to print every color BUT black. Threw out the brand new, extra large, full cartridge and put in a new,  genuine, small cartridge. Still no black ink. I did  some online research and discovered that this is a common problem with many models of HP printers. All of a sudden, they stopped printing black ink and none of the recommended "fixes" worked. Some of the commenters believed that this was a built in "kill" so  people would be forced to purchase new printers.  I have wasted the better part of a week trying to get this to work and cannot afford to purchase a new one right now. I am desperate to get this thing working again.

This seems to be a hardware issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
