I replaced ink cartridges on Officejet 8600 and now says printer failure error. I’ve done every suggestion that is posted by HP employees, cleaned, reset, checked for firmware, removed and replaced at least 20 times including print head, and still get the error message. I’m going to be pissed if I have to buy a new printer.

Hi @JF7165
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A "printer failure" error message can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. Here are some general steps you can follow:
Check for Paper Jams:
- Open all doors and trays of the printer.
- Check for any paper jams. If you find any, carefully remove the jammed paper.
- Make sure there are no small bits of paper stuck in the printer.
Inspect Ink or Toner Cartridges:
- Ensure that the ink or toner cartridges are properly installed.
- Check if any of the cartridges are low or empty, and replace them if necessary.
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Visit the HP website for your printer model and check if there are any firmware updates available.
- If updates are available, follow the instructions provided to update the firmware. Click Here
Inspect for Hardware Issues:
- Ensure that all cables connecting the printer to the computer or network are secure.
- Check for any visible damage to the printer components.
Reset the Printer:
- Look for a reset button on the printer or consult the printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
