Product: Officejet pro 8600 plus
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)
This is a new (used) printer in great shape but I want to take the cartridges out and turn the printer off and it's telling me to make sure I put them in before turning it off otherwise I'll risk damaging something. Is this really true? These can't be turned off without cartridges in them?

Don't turn HP Officejet 8600 OFF without ink cartridge that can cause printhead failure.
