Product: HP Officejet Pro 8600 all in one

Printer has been working fine for years.  Today, I saw that a light was flashing where the paper exits.  We tried turning off the printer.  The flashing stopped but the power wouldn't turn off.  Now the printer is just unresponsive.  Clicking or holding the power button doesn't do anything.  There is no reaction when touching the console or opening the ink repository.  Unplugging the printer and re-plugging it doesn't help.
