HP printer all in one 6870
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I went to print a downloaded pdf file and my printer is "offline".  Why is that?  It is new, but I have been able to print all along.

Please advise on this issue.

Sincerely,

Cheryl

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have an HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-All-in-One Printer. I read that when you tried to print a PDF document, the printer appears to be offline. Not to worry, I'll do my best to help you.

I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

  • Is the printer able to print other documents like Word, Excel, etc?
  • Did any software changes or updates happen on the printer recently?
  • Is the printer able to make a photocopy?
  • Is the printer connected via USB or wirelessly?

Meanwhile, I did some research and suggest you to perform the following steps to fix the issue:

  • Please download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor software. This is a free tool for Windows to help resolve issues with the printer drivers.

Please try to print and check how it goes. If the issue persists then I suggest you to review the steps from this HP document that helps to fix printer offline issues.

I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Please feel free to let me know. All the best! 🙂
