Hi @Prezia3,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the orange "I" icon on your HP DeskJet 2710e printer indicates a general error or an issue with the printer. If you are unable to connect the printer to the internet, follow these troubleshooting steps:

1. Check for Paper Jams

  • Open the printer and check for any paper jams. Remove any paper stuck inside, then close the printer and try again.

2. Reset the Printer

  • Unplug the printer from the power outlet, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.
  • Turn the printer on and check if the orange "I" icon is still displayed.

3. Check Wi-Fi Connection

  • Make sure your printer is within range of the Wi-Fi router.
  • On the printer, hold the Wireless button for 5 seconds until the light starts blinking. This will reset the Wi-Fi settings.
  • Try reconnecting the printer to your Wi-Fi network through the printer's control panel.

4. Use HP Smart App HP printer setup (HP Smart app)

  • Download and install the HP Smart app on your phone or computer.
  • Open the app and select Set Up a New Printer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to the Wi-Fi network.

5. Check for Firmware Updates Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Using the HP Smart app, check if there are any available firmware updates for your printer. An outdated firmware version can sometimes cause connectivity issues.

6. Network Troubleshooting HP printer setup (Wi-Fi network)

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is working correctly and that there are no issues with the router.
  • Make sure the router is broadcasting on a 2.4GHz frequency (not 5GHz), as some printers may not connect to 5GHz networks.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
