I don't necessarily want to change my default settings but I would like to know what the original settings were so that I can compare my settings.

Hello @lillysu,

Please check the advanced settings under printer preferences for my printer. Is this the one you were asking for?

NB: These settings are for a different model printer. But it is more or less the same settings.

Hope that helps. Thank you!

Cheers 🙂

Hello, @lillysu – Greetings!

Thank you for joining HP Support Forums. I’d like to be of your assistance 🙂

I understand you need to know the default settings of the printer.

If you are asking the default print quality settings, we have basically 3 quality settings:

  1. Draft mode: Printer uses less ink and print faster (Print quality will be compromised).
  2. Normal mode: The default print quality setting on the printer.
  3. Best mode: Printer gives you the best quality prints / photo (Ink consumption will be more).

You can go to Control panel – Devices and printers – Right click on the printer and select “Printing preferences”. Then select paper / quality tab to check and change the settings.

Please let me know if this answers your query, or if you require further assistance.

Cheers 🙂
