Deskjet 2640
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Deskjet 2640 All-in-One printer. On a very rare occasion, it will actually print! But 99% of the time when I try to print, I get an error saying the printer is out of paper. It's not. I have tried readjusting the paper. Putting one sheet of paper in. More paper, less paper. Sometimes I won't touch the paper but restart the printer and it will then print the last thing tried to print. But that only happens on occasion. Does anyone know what I can do?

Thanks!

Lynn Bowles

Hi @LBowles65

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "Out of paper" issue.

To better assist you -

1)Are you able to make copies using the printer?

2)What is the paper type and paper size you are using?

3)What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or device?

Please get back to me with the above-required information.

Meanwhile, you may also refer to this document with steps to fix the "Out of Paper" issue.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
