My all-in-one printer produces a message - Out of Paper- but it isn't.  I see that lots of people have had a similar problem with other printers.  I think I've followed all the tips I can find - cleaned rollers, made sure the paper is suitable and inserted OK, reset printer, restarted, turned off/on - nothing has worked.  Is there a magic solution?  The printer is an old one - 2003, does it need relacing or servicing?  Advice please.

The problem was with the Port assigned to the printer, which was LPT1 instead of USB001.

When I deleted all print files in the queue, and changed the Port address, the problem was solved, and i was able to print OK.

I haven't seen this solution anywhere, but it was the appropriate one, and might help someone experiencing a similar situation.

Thanks for tring to help.  I had come across the information in your link before, but it didn't resolve things.  But, by removing and reinstalling the printer I god rid  of the  Out of Paper message but instead print files now get stuck in the queue.  I've tried deleting them and printing again but the same problem occurs - it says it's printing but it isn't.   I've run HP print and scan doctor as well but this hasn't solved the problem.  My printer scans documents OK but printing is still the problem.

I had the same problem... and came up with a quick and easy solution.

Select something to print that won't take a lot of ink and choose the plain paper setting.

Take plain paper... I used two and poured 99% alcohol over the top/middle of the sheets.

Insert the sheets into the tray and print on the pages  Each sheet will be picked up and pass through the printer.

This will clean the pick up roller... and will allow you to print again.

God Bless

I had the out of paper problem too.  It started after putting a new extra-long colour cartridge in.  After trying many other solutions, I put my old colour cartridge in and everything worked fine.  I'm returning the new cartridge as there must have been something wrong with it.  I've used the extra long black cartridges and they work well.
