I recently purchased an HP laptop running Windows 10-64 bit. I am unable to print to my wireless HP Envy Photo 7155. The printer queue reports that it is out of paper in the photo tray. I know that it is and I don't care, as I am printing a document. I have selected "main tray" in the printer properties dialog. I have installed all windows 10 updates on the laptop. I can print just fine from my old Windows 7 laptop and my iPhone. My problem sounds identical to the one described at https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Inkjet-Printing/Out-of-paper-in-photo-tray/m-p/7149916

Hi @Senile_TX_Aggie,
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "out of paper in the photo tray" issue.
To better assist you - Are you able to make copies using the printer?
Meanwhile, let's uninstall the printer software from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software.
--->In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
--->Select your HP printer.
--->Select Uninstall.
--->In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
--->In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
--->Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
--->Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
--->Click on the Drivers tab.
--->Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.
--->Select OK.
--->Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
--->Close Devices and Printers.
And then reinstall the printer full-featured drivers from Software and drivers
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
Click the “Kudos, Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!

Miss Jay_G24,
Here is what happened when I did the following steps:
--->In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
I couldn't find anything called "Programs and Features". I did find "Apps and Features" but did not find any mention of HP printer.
--->Select your HP printer.
N/A
--->Select Uninstall.
N/A
--->In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
--->In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
Worked.
--->Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
--->Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
--->Click on the Drivers tab.
--->Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.
--->Select OK.
Failed. Said printer driver and package was in use.
--->Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
N/A
--->Close Devices and Printers.
OK.
--->And then reinstall the printer full-featured drivers from Software and drivers.
I did this. Since I already had HP Smart installed, then I simply set up the HP Envy printer package and was able to print different types of documents.
So thanks, Miss Jay_G24, for your assistance.
