HI @TonyO1942,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Smart Tank 650 output tray was damaged and you need a replacement, follow these steps to obtain and install a new one:

**1. Identify the Model and Part Number

  • Verify Model: Make sure you have the exact model of your printer, which is the HP Smart Tank 650. This ensures that you get the correct part.
  • Check Part Number: The part number for the output tray might not always be listed directly in the printer manual, but you can often find it on HP’s official website or by contacting their support.

**2. Purchase a Replacement Output Tray

  • HP Official Website: Visit the HP Support website and search for replacement parts for the HP Smart Tank 650. Look for the output tray or related parts.
  • Authorized HP Resellers: Check with authorized HP resellers or service centers. They often carry genuine parts for HP printers.
  • Online Retailers: Websites like Amazon, eBay, or other office supply stores might have replacement parts. Ensure you’re buying from a reputable seller to get a genuine HP part.

**3. Install the New Output Tray

Turn Off the Printer: For safety, turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.

Remove the Damaged Tray:

  • Locate the output tray area on your printer.
  • Gently remove the damaged tray. It should come off with a bit of maneuvering. If there are any clips or latches, you might need to release them.

Install the New Output Tray:

  • Align the new output tray with the slot where the old one was removed.
  • Gently slide the tray into place until it clicks or fits securely. Ensure it is properly aligned and seated.

Reconnect and Power On:

  • Plug the printer back into the power source and turn it on.
  • Check the alignment of the new output tray and ensure it operates correctly.

**4. Verify Printer Functionality

  • Test Print: Run a test print to ensure that the printer is functioning properly with the new output tray and that the tray aligns correctly for paper output.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
