I hav a HP Photosmart D7360 Printer that has been packed away for years. I purchased new ink cartridges and replaced the old cartridges but cannot bypass the following error: 0xc18a0206. The message on the display reads as follows: Ink system has failed. Unable to print. Refer to printer documentation. Error: 0xc18a0206. Turn power off, then on again.

I have the manual and there is no solution for this error in the manual.  I need help to override this error and print a test page.

Hi @ccaphillips,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand your printer is stuck on an error screen.

Let's try a few checks.

Turn off the printer and unplug the power for 10 minutes.

Plug directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).

Restart and check if the error clears.

Ensure all cartridges are genuine HP and properly seated.

Remove each cartridge, inspect the vent (orange tab removed, no debris).

Clean vents gently with a pin if blocked.

Update Firmware

Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.

I hope this helps

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Hi @ccaphillips,

Thank you for getting back.

Remove cartridges and gently clean the copper contacts on the printhead and cartridges with a lint‑free cloth.

Run alignment/cleaning cycles. If the printer boots past the error, run these cycles to flush the ink system.

If the error persists, the printhead itself is likely clogged or electrically failed. Replacement is the only fix.

Let me know if it helps.
