Hi @jalskdjf,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

1. Update the Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Visit HP's support website and download the latest firmware for your printer model: HP Support - Product Firmware

2. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Download the latest printer drivers from HP's website specifically for your printer model and Windows version.
  • Uninstall the existing drivers and then reinstall the new version.

3. Change Print Driver Language:

  • Access the printer properties settings:
    • Open the Start menu and go to 'Control Panel'.
    • Select 'Devices and Printers' or 'Printers and Scanners'.
    • Right-click on your HP printer and select 'Printer Properties'.
  • Change the Driver Language to "PCL 5" or "PostScript":
    • Go to the "Advanced" tab.
    • Click on "New Driver".
    • Follow the prompts and select a driver with PCL 5 or PostScript.

4. Disable Advanced Printing Features:

  • Sometimes, disabling advanced printing features can resolve PCL XL errors:
    • Open the printer properties window as explained above.
    • Go to the "Advanced" tab.
    • Uncheck the box next to "Enable advanced printing features".
    • Click "Apply" and then "OK".

5. Print in Image Mode:

  • Print the document as an image to bypass any vector issues:
    • Open the document you want to print.
    • Click 'Print' and select your printer.
    • Click on 'Properties' or 'Preferences'.
    • Look for the "Print as Image" option in the advanced settings or under a tab like 'Graphics' or 'Image'.
    • Enable "Print as Image" and print the document again.

6. Check Document Compatibility:

  • The error might be related to a specific document with complex graphics or fonts. Try printing a simpler document to see if the issue persists.

7. Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a hard reset on the printer:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
    • Wait at least 60 seconds.
    • Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.

I hope this helps.
