Hi @Andrew367,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When an HP Envy 6420E printer displays an E6 error and all lights are flashing, it typically indicates a paper jam or a carriage jam. Here's what you can do to resolve the issue.
- Check for Paper Jams: Open the printer cover and check for any jammed paper inside the printer. Carefully remove any paper you find. Make sure to check the input and output trays as well.
- Clear the Carriage Jam: If there is no paper jam, the carriage might be stuck. Open the printer cover and check if the carriage moves freely. If it's stuck, gently move it back and forth to release any obstructions.
- Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can often clear any temporary errors.
- Update Printer Firmware: Sometimes, updating the printer's firmware can resolve various issues. Check the HP website for firmware updates specific to your printer model and follow the instructions to update it.
- Check for Hardware Issues: If the issue persists after performing the above steps, there might be a hardware problem with the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
