Welcome to the HP Support Community.

 

Does this happen while copying too? Does this happen with all the documents you try to print?

 

Clean the printhead:

  1. On the printer control panel, press Setup.

  2. Press the down arrow button  to select Tools, and then press OK.

  3. Press the down arrow button  to select Clean Printhead, and then press OK.

  4. If the print quality is unacceptable, perform another printhead cleaning.

NOTE: If the printhead is badly clogged, wait 30 minutes, and then clean the printhead again.
