everytime i try to print something, my printer goes to start but ends up just spitting out 2 1/2 pieces of paper and says out of paper. i push the button to tell it that it has paper and it does it all over again. I have reset it, cleaned it, changed the paper, Tried to print from PC and print from qiuck prints. Everything i see is for when the printer dont pick up the paper. I want to stress it picks the paper up, 2 pages actually ... just rolls them through and then says out of paper.

Hi @mysticlycharmed,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP OfficeJet 3830 - picks paper but shows an “Out of Paper” Error!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check & Reload the Paper Properly
Remove all the paper from the tray.
Fan the stack to remove any static, and align the edges.
Reload only 20–25 sheets of plain, unused A4 or Letter paper.
Adjust the paper width guides snugly against the paper.
Clean the Paper Pickup Rollers
Turn off the printer and unplug the power.
Open the access door and locate the gray rollers inside the input tray area.
Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean them.
Allow it to dry for at least 10 minutes, then plug the printer back in.
Reset the Printer
Turn the printer on.
With it on, unplug the power cable from the back.
Wait 60 seconds.
Plug it back in and wait for it to fully power up.
Update Printer Firmware (if not already)
Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.
Check Paper Size Settings on PC
Go to Devices and Printers > Right-click HP OfficeJet 3830 > Printing Preferences
Under the Paper/Quality tab, make sure the correct paper size is selected.
Match the paper size set on the printer display as well.
I hope this helps.
