Example: INTEL CORE i3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

product: Officejet 6600 - printhead replacement.

i purchased a refurbished printhead through Amazon and have successfully installed. When i powered it up, the printhead sounded slamming itself either left or right of the housing then claims the printhead could not move. There are no obstructions whatsoever, i have desperate to find out what is the problem or root cause... pls help!

Regards,

AL

You probably missed when installing a printhead calibration strip. Inside printer above metal rod you can see a thin plastic strip, it's is used for a printer knows the position of the printhead. On the printhead, there is a line sensor and calibration strip must go inside that sensor, you probably missed it when installing.

Thank you for the swift reply Valsimot. On the printhead calibration strip, were you referring to the flat strip cable hooked in the white slot below the black plastic housing in your diagram? if so, i revisited ALL flat cables and ensured they are all plugged correctly. If not, can you pls re-highlight on the diagram which particular strip you are referring to?

i did discover one thing i missed which was a small bolt at top right of blk plastic housing (referring to your diagram). i put the bolt back and it somehow eliminated the slamming concerns which seems to be moving normal now. Now, a new error surfaced indicating 'the printhead appears to be missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed'. This was my original problem in the first place why i have made a new printhead replacement. What do you think i might have missed now, assuming the refurbished printhead i purchased is OK? God i am hoping the refurbished printhead is in good working condition otherwise i would hate to have to return and wait a long while to obtain a replacement....

You got one problem solved, and you probably have a defective refurbished printhead or defective mainboard. Double-check the flat cables connections.
