@MosesA, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your empty paper in tray!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand how frustrating it can be when your printer refuses to recognize the paper in the tray. Let’s work through this together and get you printing again!

Check the Paper Tray:

Make sure there’s paper loaded properly. Even if there is, try removing the stack, fanning the sheets to prevent sticking, and then reloading them neatly.

Paper Type & Alignment:

Ensure you're using supported paper (plain A4 or Letter size is best).

Don’t overfill the tray—keep it within the marked limit.

Adjust the paper guides so they’re snug against the edges of the paper but not too tight.

Restart the Printer:

Turn off the printer, unplug it for about 30 seconds, and plug it back in. Sometimes, a simple restart refreshes the system.

Check for Paper Sensor Issues:

Open the paper tray and gently clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water. Dust buildup can sometimes prevent the printer from detecting paper.

Let it dry completely before reloading the paper.

Run a Printer Self-Test:

If possible, print a configuration or test page from the printer menu to check if it picks up the paper.

If the issue persists, let me know what you've tried so far, and I’d be happy to assist further! 😊

Looking forward to your update!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
