"gsm" is the weight of the paper and it may -- or may not -- be related to the quality of that paper.
In my opinion, there is not enough of a perceivable weight difference between paper that is 75 gsm and another paper that is 70 gsm to impact the life of the printer to the extent that you could measure the difference (or be aware of it).
Which printer you have, the level of maintenance (how well you take care of your printer), the ink (HP is recommended and, in some cases, required), the general quality of the paper, and the Media (kind of paper) all have an impact on the life of the printer.
Another factor that impacts printer life is "duty cycle", that is, how much you print.
If you print closer to the maximum of what the printer can handle than to the recommended page volume, this might impact the life of the printer hardware. Other related factors to this measurement might relate to "how much content is on the page" -- Printing thousands of blank paper sheets (or paper with a single line of text) may not be the same thing as printing thousands of pages that are full of content.
Data sheet Example
Data sheet HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 All-in-One Printer
Monthly duty cycle
Up to 30,000 pages A4; Recommended monthly page volume: Up to 2,000
