When I'm printing the paper comes out like it's off the rails so to speak and feeds to the left causing it to crumple against the printer.

Sometimes the printer will suck the paper back into itself.    I also notice that nothing was printed on the paper.

I also notice that there are blobs of black ink on the paper.

I've tried to align the printer using the trouble shooting and cleaning the injectors.

I get an error message saying I am using the wrong paper size but when I check I am using the correct paper size.

Thanks

Hi @anth1225,

I read the quick reply. You've fabulously well by displaying terrific patience, immense technical talent and a never say die spirit to try and resolve the issue. Kudos to you for a job well done. 🙂

So if it does not print in color please try these steps:

Make 2 copies in color directly from the printer without any communication from the computer  and check if it copies correctly.

If it does, then perform these steps to uninstall and reinstall the printer software.

  • Uninstall the printer from "programs and features" which can be accessed by doing a right-click on the Windows button (Please have the printer Off and disconnected during uninstallation.)
  • Check in device manager, if the printer is listed there, please delete it. (Right click on the Windows button to access device manager)
  • Go to devices and printers, select any printer listed there and you will get some options on the top.
  • Click on print server properties.
  • You will get a popup, click on the drivers tab and delete all the HP printer drivers listed there if any.
  • Delete all the instances of your printer listed in devices and printers.
  • Restart the PC.
  • Once the PC is on the desktop, press Win + R, it would bring a Run dialog box,
  • Type %temp% in the run box and click Ok or hit the Enter button.
  • It would bring up the temporary files folder. Delete the files in the folder (You might not be able to delete all the files).
  • If possible, delete the printer from the registries using Regedit or using any other 3rd party application.
  • Ignore the Regedit option if it cannot be done.
  • Restart the PC again.

Then download the latest full feature driver from http://hp.care/2tN6vw7 nnd install it on the computer after selecting the correct operating system.

Connect the printer to your computer only when the setup prompts for the printer.

This should fix the issue.

If it does not, then, try installing the Windows Built-in drivers by following instructions from this link: http://hp.care/2o3acvH and check if it gets fixed.

Other steps to try.

try printing in color from a different app like WordPad. if it prints correctly, then uninstall and reinstall MS Office and the issue should get fixed..

Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great.

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.

Thank you for your help.  I used the copy function as you suggested and the paper did the same thing but less of a

movement to the left.  So I turned the printer around so I could look in the back for a paper jam and when I turned the

printer the back door slid off.  So I copied again and it worked.  I guess the back door wasn't on right and the rollers were

messing up.  Then I went to print a document from Microsoft word and the colors weren't coming out right.  Red and blue

were brown and the purple wasn't noticeable.  I went to the print diagnostics aligned and cleaned the printheads 3 times.

On the pages after the cleanings I can see the different colors but when I printed from Word again the same result occured.

I am using HP colored ink but confess I am using a black IKong cartridge I bought from Amazon.  Would that cause the

problem?

Thanks for your help,

HI thanks for helping me.  I tried copying directly from the printer as suggested and red still looks brown.

I'm not sure I read your instructions correctly but since the problem still exists outside of the computer I'm not sure if it's software related or not.

If I read your instructions correctly and if the problem wasn't fixed I followed the link where the video told me to go to change device installation and click on the yes tab to automatically download manufactureres apps and custom icons available.  The yes tab was already set to this.

I clicked on the no button then back to yes so I could click on the save changes button.  Nothing has changed and my printer is still connected wirelessly so I didn't have to go through that process.

Am I to delete and reinstall my printer then?  Is it the driver that's causing red to appear brown?  The yellow and blue show but they are not vibrant and appear darker and less vibrant.

Thank you

Hi @anth1225,

I read your response. Thanks for the quick reply. You've  hit the nail on its head. if the copy does not work correctly and red prints as brown then we need to check the printer's cartridges for print quality issues.

So please follow all the steps from this link: http://hp.care/2xGZ3SS to fix print quality issues. If this does not work, then you will need to replace the ink cartridges by calling HP phone Support.

HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: http://hp.care/2r9wSvP

  • Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.
  • Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.
  • Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.
  • Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.

If the unit is under warranty, the manufacturer’s warranty should take care of it for you.

Even replacing the ink cartridges if the issue continues, then the printer is faulty and needs to be replaced. HP phone support will help you to reach a decision here whether to replace the ink cartridges or go for a replacement printer.

Trust me I've done all I can to assist you by keeping your best interest in mind. It has been wonderful working with you and an absolute honor to share this platform with you. I genuinely hope things work great.
