Paper mismatch error is incorrect - paper and settings same

HP printer is saying label paper is mismatched size, but it's not.  The label sheet (Avery 6793) and MS Word doc are both  8.5x11.

>> Note, I figured it may be the blue stripes on the ends of the Avery label sheet.  It may  be affecting the printers ability to detect the sheet length.  When I put the label sheet in upside down (no blue stripe on the back), it accepted the sheet and started printing... on the back, of course.  So how to get rid of or over-ride that blue stripe.  ??

Perform a power reset

1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware
