My HP deskjet 4100e printer is not grabbing the paper for printing & makes loud noises as if it's trying but can't...wondering if this could be a problem with the rollers?

I've tried suggestions via the virtual assistant but nothing has worked...I welcome your thoughts!

@AJ387, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Paper Not Feeding and Loud Noise Issues on HP DeskJet 4100e Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like there might be an issue with the rollers in your HP DeskJet 4100e printer. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

Turn off the printer: Disconnect the power cord from the printer.

Inspect and clean the rollers:

  • Open the printer access door.
  • If there's any jammed paper or debris, carefully remove it.
  • Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the paper feed rollers. Make sure to turn the rollers manually to clean them entirely.

Check the paper type and condition:

  • Ensure you're using the correct paper type recommended for your printer.
  • Remove any damaged, curled, or wrinkled paper from the tray.

Reset the printer:

  • Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.

Perform a test print:

  • Load a stack of paper (not too many sheets) into the paper tray and try printing a test page.

Update printer firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer firmware is up to date. You can check for updates on the HP Support website.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
