I have a MFP277 Laser Jet Pro. I have had it a long time. The blue part that attaches to the paper tray underneath has come off. There is only 1 now. Not sure if there were 2. Also, the paper feeding tray is not laying properly on top to feed envelopes and or paper. Therefore, i cannot feed legal paper AND I cannot clean the device.
I can take pictures, but I cannot find anything in the manual or online that shows me what it is supposed to look like. Not diagram, no parts needed. Can anyone help? It is a great printer, but I can't clean it and there are streaks everywhere. And only the pink cartridge leaks???

Hi @KateGeorgia14,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're having some trouble with your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M277's paper tray and feeding mechanism. While I don't have access to specific images or diagrams of the internal components of this printer, I can offer some guidance on how to address your issues.
1. Blue Part on Paper Tray
- The blue parts in HP paper trays are typically used for adjusting the size of the paper and holding it in place.
- If one of these parts has come off, it might be why you're having trouble feeding paper correctly.
- Check if there is a slot or groove where the blue part should snap back in. These parts are usually designed to be user-friendly and snap into place without screws or tools.
2. Paper Feeding Tray Misalignment
- If the paper feeding tray is not laying properly, it might be due to a misaligned or broken component.
- Ensure that there are no obstructions and that all moving parts can move freely.
- Sometimes, removing and then re-inserting the tray can help realign any misaligned parts.
3. Cleaning the Device and Handling Leaks
- For cleaning the internal components, especially to address streaks, you can use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water or isopropyl alcohol to clean the rollers and the area around the toner cartridges.
- Be careful when handling the cartridges, especially the pink (magenta) one that is leaking. It might be defective and could require replacement.
- HP printers often have a cleaning mode accessible through the printer’s menu. Running this cleaning cycle can sometimes resolve streaking issues.
4. Finding Diagrams and Parts
- The printer’s manual or service guide usually includes diagrams of the paper tray and other components. If you don’t have the physical manual, you can often find it online by searching for "HP LaserJet Pro MFP M277 manual" on HP’s official support website.
- HP also provides parts diagrams and lists on their support site or through authorized service providers
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
