Need a bit of help troubleshooting the reasons for a poor quality print on transparency film. I'm printing signs and window dressing for my HO scale railroad layout. There are quite a few images on the page, some are actually photos and some are .PNGs that I made in Photoshop with transparent backgrounds, my printer is an inkjet, 5500 photo printer, and the film I purchased is specifically inkjet film, from a train modeler's website. I changed the paper setting on the print dialogue window to transparency film and I only put one sheet in the printer. The film fed through just fine, and I let it sit in the paper tray for about 15 minutes before I went into the next room where the printer is located and picked it up. The quality leaves a lot to be desired, in fact, when I first looked at it, it almost looked like not all the colors printed, and the images looked blotchy and incomplete. I had just put new ink cartridges in the printer but I check the levels and I checked that the cartridges were well seated. Everything with the printer is fine. Now that the film has set for almost an hour, it seems that most of the color ink has disappeared, leaving only blotches and globs of black ink that has not yet dried, and only very very faint images in the areas that didn't have a lot, or none at all, black ink.
I do hope this is something that I can correct easily. The film isn't cheap, nor is the ink, and I hate wasting both on film that's headed only to the wastebasket. I've added a photo that may be more help than my description. I placed the film on blue paper so that all the print that's there will show up better.
Thanks in advance for all the help

No, this is the first try I've made. However, a friend suggested to me this morning that I try printing on the other side of the film. I had printed on the glossy side, and the other side is a little rougher, perhaps more porous, so I just tried that. And the print came out much better. I can see some things I need to change, ie: using darker colors. It's drying now. I'm anxious to trim them down and see how they look on the signs and windows. Thanks so much for your reply. Greatly appreciated.
