Hi @Pleasantnancy,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The "Permanent Storage Init" error on your HP LaserJet M1522nf typically indicates an issue with the printer’s internal memory or firmware. Here are some steps to try to resolve it.
Power Cycle:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and leave it unplugged for about 10-15 minutes.
- Plug it back in and power it on to see if the issue resolves.
Reset Printer Settings:
- Press the "Setup" button on the control panel.
- Navigate to "Service" using the arrow keys and select "Restore Defaults".
- Confirm the action to reset the printer settings, and allow the printer to restart.
Firmware Update:
- Visit the HP support site and download the latest firmware update for the HP LaserJet M1522nf.
- Follow the instructions to update the firmware on your printer.
NVRAM Initialization (This will clear all stored settings):
- Turn off the printer.
- Hold down the "Checkmark" (OK) and "Cancel" buttons at the same time.
- While holding them, turn on the printer, and continue holding until you see "Permanent Storage Init" or "NVRAM Initialization" on the display.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
