Hello,

Model Photosmart 5520.

Issue: Offline message returns after running HP Print & Scan Doctor.

Today I installed a new wireless router and inputted the new password for the new router into the network sttings in my Photosmart 5520. A printjob in the print queue then printed.

The next printjob sent from my computer failed, returning a "failed to communicate with printer" message.

I downloaded and ran HP Print & Scan Doctor and it claimed to have found and fixed problems.

I tried to print a test ptint from P & S Doctor and got the "failed to communicate with printer" message again!

It seems that I am stuck having to manually reenter my router pasword each time I want to print a file.

Other information:

When I ran P&S Doctor it displayed Photosmart 5520 network AND Photosmart 5520 (Network copy) so I have tried both of these, but to no avail. Which one should work? WHy are there two icons, when I have only one printer?

HURRAH! 2 hours 20 minutes after starting to try and resolve this problem, I've fixed it. Downloading a software update from HP to my computer did it. What a pain!!
