Photosmart 6520 all in one printer
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

My Photsmart 6520 will not print or copy.  It sounds like it is printing but the paper comes out blank.  When I align printer the test sheet prints but if I print from Email, word or internet the paper comes out blank.  I downloaded latest driver and at the end the sheet with the OK check mark printed.  I have gone through the procedures listed on the hp site to no avail.  I have it connected to my desktop by usb.

Could you print a print quality test report and let me know the result. In order to print the report:

1.) On the printer control panel, touch the Settings icon .

2.) Touch Tools, and then touch Print Quality Report.

On the print diagnostic sheet the black rectangle is blank.  It's wierd because the black text on the diagnostic page printed OK but I cannot copy or print from my computer in black.  I tried to clean the black printhead with alcohol but that didn't make a difference.

I guess I have to just get a new printer.  Grrrr....  I dont understand why I cannot print anything in black yet my print quality diagnostic page printed the text in black.  The color block for black was white though.

I believe the printer mixed the color inks to print black text on the diagnostic report. Since the black rectangle box on the diagnostic page is black its possible that the ink cartridge or print head is defective. Power resetting the printer, performing and automated and manual cleaning may resolve the issue. Please try these steps:

1) Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector

2) Remove all of your ink cartridges from the printer and close the door

3) Remove the power cord from the back of the printer (Do no press the power button)

4) Clean the electrical contacts, refer to solution 4 from this document.

5) Plug the power cord back into the printer

6) Wait for the printer to turn on completely, then install the ink cartridges.

7) On the printer control panel, touch the Settings icon .

😎 Touch Tools, and then touch Clean Printhead.

9) On the printer control panel, touch the Settings icon .

10) Touch Tools, and then touch Align Printer.
