Photosmart 7520
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

when I turn on my Photosmart 7520 all-in-one, a message appears on the printer's display that requires me to install the setup cartridges in order to complete the initialization. I don't have such cartridges (it's an used printer and I suspect it has been reset). How can I proceed? Is there a way to bypass this procedure? Or how can I buy a set of setup cartridges?

Thank you in advance.

Hello, @billypowell – Hope you are well!

Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel.

You can try performing a reset on the printer. I am sending a private message with instructions. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen to access your mailbox.

Those steps should do the trick, let me know the outcome.

Cheers 🙂

HI, I have the same issue as in the thread with my 7520. Can you please send me the procedure to bypass the need for the setup cartridges?

My HP Photosmart 7520 insists that my "setup" ink has run out, and is acting like this is some sort of important thing.  It fails to print, even though I am telling it to prink in black ink only.

How do I get past this wierd need for a "setup" cartridge that serves no purpose?
