I have a HP5055 which is about 3-4 months old. It has printed fine. Not a lot of printing, but never a problem. Suddenly, it is skipping lines and now you really can't read anything on the page, just some black marks.
There are no error messages and there is ink in the cartridge. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I got rid of a Canon for this and am not happy it's not working.
Thank you!

Hi @Mishana
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand the print quality is not good. I'd be happy to assist you.
- Try making a standalone copy in black and color to check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.
- Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word, or Webpages and check if the issue persists?
Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:
Check the estimated ink levels and replace any low or empty ink cartridges.
Clean the ink cartridges
-
On the printer control panel, swipe left on the display, and then touch Setup
.
-
Touch Tools, and then touch Clean Cartridges.
-
If the print quality is unacceptable, touch Yes when prompted to perform the next level of cleaning.
-
NOTE: If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you perform both levels of cleaning again.
Print a Print Quality Diagnostic report
-
On the printer control panel, swipe left on the display, and then touch Setup
.
-
Touch Tools.
-
Swipe up on the display, and then touch Print Quality Report.
If the issue persists, perform step 13 from this document.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
