@Theadore, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Deskjet 2700!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

A constantly blinking power button on the HP DeskJet 2700 series printer usually indicates one of the following issues:

Printer is Processing a Job

  • If the light blinks slowly, the printer might be working on a print job.
  • Solution: Wait a few moments or check the print queue on your computer. Cancel any stuck jobs.

Low Ink or Paper Jam

  • Check the printer display or your computer for an error message.
  • Solution:
    • Open the printer cover and check for a paper jam. Remove any stuck paper.
    • Check ink levels and replace low/empty cartridges if needed.

Connection Issues

  • If the printer is connected via Wi-Fi, the blinking light may indicate a network issue.
  • Solution:
    • Restart the printer and router.
    • Reconnect the printer to the Wi-Fi using the HP Smart app.

Firmware or Hardware Issue

  • A constantly blinking power button may indicate a firmware issue or printer error.
  • Solution:
    • Turn OFF the printer, unplug it for 60 seconds, then turn it back ON.
    • Update the printer firmware using HP Smart or HP Support Assistant.

Reset the Printer (If None of the Above Work)

  • Steps to Reset:
    1. Turn ON the printer.
    2. Press and hold the Wireless button and Cancel button (Red X) together for 5-10 seconds until the power light blinks rapidly.
    3. The printer will restart and reset its network settings.

If the issue persists, let me know if any error codes or patterns appear, and I can guide you further! 🚀

Take care, and have an amazing day!
