Hi @JennaWaters24,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer is power cycling and displaying a question mark icon, it may indicate a hardware or software issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Unplug the printer from the power outlet.
  • Wait for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Check for Software/Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check for updates via the HP Smart app or HP's official website.

Disconnect and Reconnect All Cables:

  • Check the power cord and ensure it is securely connected to both the printer and the power outlet.
  • If the printer is connected to a USB or network cable, try disconnecting and reconnecting those as well.

Reset the Printer:

  • Go to the printer's control panel and navigate to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults (or similar options).
  • Note that this may erase any custom settings.

Check for Overheating:

  • Ensure that the printer is in a well-ventilated area and not overheating. Excess heat can cause the printer to cycle.

Inspect for Hardware Issues:

  • Open the printer and check for any jammed paper, foreign objects, or anything that may obstruct the internal components.
  • Look for any signs of damage, especially around the power connector.

Check Error Messages:

  • If the printer displays any error messages or codes, make a note of them, as they can provide more information about the issue.

Try a Different Power Outlet:

  • Plug the printer into a different outlet to rule out issues with the power source.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
