Hi @Naz2021,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing a power-on issue with an HP 310 computer, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem. Here's a general troubleshooting guide that may help.

  • Check the power source: Ensure that the power cable is securely connected to both the computer and the power outlet. Try plugging the computer into a different power outlet to rule out a faulty outlet.
  • Power button: Verify that you are pressing the power button correctly and that it is functioning properly. Some HP computers have a separate power button on the back of the tower, so check there as well.
  • Power supply: The power supply unit (PSU) may be faulty. Check if the PSU fan is spinning when you attempt to power on the computer. If it isn't, there may be an issue with the power supply. In such cases, you may need to contact HP support or a technician to replace the power supply.
  • Reset the power connections: Shut down the computer completely, unplug the power cable, and press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds. Then, release the button, reconnect the power cable, and try turning on the computer again.
  • Hardware disconnect: If you recently added or modified any hardware components, such as RAM or a graphics card, it's possible that they are causing the power issue. Try disconnecting any recently installed hardware and see if the computer powers on.
  • Test with minimal hardware: Disconnect all external devices, including USB devices, printers, and monitors. Leave only the essential components connected, such as the keyboard, mouse, and monitor, and attempt to power on the computer again.
  • CMOS battery: The CMOS battery is a small battery on the motherboard that helps retain system settings. If the CMOS battery is depleted, it can cause power-on issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
