macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Recent power outage. Printer surge protected. When power came back on, the printer "apostrophe" light was on. Also, the scanner bar visible through the document panel was on and seemed to be stuck on the left side. Pressing either the power button or the "OK" button was ineffective. Unplugged power source then re-powered printer with no effect.

I understand you are not able to use the printer. The support options are limited for this printer due to its age.

 

Perform the steps mentioned in this document. The steps apply to the issue you are facing with the printer. 

 

If the issue persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware failure. 

As the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.
