After changing the empty yellow catridge with a brand new one from original HP pack on display is shown:

Problem with the "Zufuhrsystem", this cartridge has to be changed against an not empty cartridge.

I have no idea how I can solve the problem. In that state I have no chance to print in colormode.

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 is displaying an error related to the cartridge feed system, particularly after replacing the yellow cartridge. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue.

 

  • Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the cartridge is properly installed. Sometimes, cartridges may not be seated correctly, leading to detection errors. Remove the cartridge and reinsert it firmly into its slot.
  • Restart the Printer: Power off the printer, wait for about 30 seconds, and then power it back on. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve cartridge detection issues.
  • Clean Cartridge Contacts: Turn off the printer and carefully clean the electrical contacts on both the cartridge and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water. Make sure they are dry before reinserting the cartridge.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer. Sometimes, updating the firmware can fix bugs and improve compatibility with new cartridges.
  • Try Another Cartridge: If possible, try inserting another new cartridge of the same color to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the cartridge itself or the printer.
