I am trying to print labels in Word 2013 and have downloaded a template from Avery.  But when I go to print, it states that my margins are too narrow and print lands outside the printable area.  The labels will not print.  Is there a way to change this?  Using a deskjet 2050.

Which Avery template?

Actually, the choice of template may not matter so much - I cannot find any margin data for this printer.  I might have missed it, of course, and I have not checked "Everywhere" for the information.

and / or

How do you have the margins set in Word?

In general, Avery templates provide sufficient margins (at least .5 inches on all sides).

If you have tried to customize the margins in Word > Layout, it is possible you have set the margins "outside" of what the printer can handle.

Unfortunately, neither the Datasheet nor the Specifications provide any information on margin requirement / limitations.

The User Guide does not even contain the word "margin".

If this printer does have odd (margin) limitations, it may be at the "bottom" of the page (paper).  The margin allowance may be more than .5 inches.  This being the case, the template would have to address this by not having any printable area outside of the margins allowed by the printer hardware.

So, what to do?

If you know the margin limitaions of the printer hardware, do not use any print setting (or template) that violates that restriction.  I suggest you print no closer than .5 inches to the edge of the paper.  If possible, consider using .7 inches on the "bottom" edge.  ??

Cannot prove / check / test  any of this, of course.

Rats.
