For some time when I do a multi-sheet print, the print starts from the last page, as opposed to the write order. How come ? Can it be remedied? Thank you

Hi @GABONIK1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand that you are facing issues with print errors. I'd like to help!

I see that you need assistance regarding changing the order of printing and making it print in reverse again. It will be a delight to assist you here.

Superb analysis and brilliant diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you on that score. :slightly_smiling_face:

To assist you with accurate information I would require more information regarding this:

  • Did you check the printer settings?
  • Which app do you print from?

For now, try these steps:

  • Please perform a hard reset on the printer from this link:

https://hp.care/2sGl7No

  •  by following instructions from the section “Step 1: Reset the printer

Then follow these steps:

Click the Advanced tab in Printing Preferences.

  1. Expand the Document Options entry.
  2. Expand the Layout Options entry.
  3. In the Page Order: drop-down menu, select Back to Front.
  4. Click OK.

  1. HP considers reversing the print order to be an advanced setting.

Now check if the issue gets fixed. Make sure to select back to back and not front to back to reverse the print order.

The "Advanced" tab should look something like this :

Try to check the option reverse page order is available if you need reverse printing enabled. Although this is for a different printer, the settings should be very similar for your printer also. Now check for issue resolution.

if the issue continues then perform these steps:

Uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers at the root level by following these step-by-step instructions:

  • Uninstall the printer from "programs and features" which can be accessed by doing a right-click on the Windows button (Please have the printer Off and disconnected during uninstallation.)
  • Check-in device manager, if the printer is listed there, please delete it. (Right-click on the Windows button to access the device manager)
  • Go to devices and printers, in the control panel, and select any printer listed there and you will get some options on the top.
  • Click on print server properties.
  • You will get a popup, click on the driver's tab and delete all the HP printer drivers listed there if any.
  • Delete all the instances of your printer listed in devices and printers.
  • Restart the PC.
  • Once the PC is on the desktop, press Win + R, and it would bring a Run dialog box,
  • Type %temp% in the run box and click Ok or hit the Enter button.
  • It would bring up the temporary files folder. Delete the files in the folder (You might not be able to delete all the files).
  • If possible, delete the printer from the registries using Regedit or using any other 3rd party application.
  • Ignore the Regedit option if it cannot be done.
  • Restart the PC again.

Then download the latest full feature driver from https://hp.care/2yZv4aj  and install it on the computer after selecting the correct operating system.

Connect the printer to your computer only when the setup prompts for the printer.

This should fix the issue.
