At least once a week both print head error icons start flashing. I have to remove them then put them back in. This turns off the error icons and printer works fine; until it happens again.
I've tried contacting support, but when I hit the"submit" button nothing happens.

Hi @BVilkaitis,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thank you for reaching out, and we appreciate you using the HP Smart Tank 7002 All-in-One Printer. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing recurring printhead error lights and trouble submitting a support request.
The behaviour you’re describing — both printhead lights flashing until reseated — suggests the printer intermittently loses connection with one or both printheads. While reseating them temporarily resolves the issue, it shouldn’t be happening regularly.
Please try the following to reduce or eliminate these recurring errors:
1. Thoroughly Clean Printhead Contacts
Even a small amount of dried ink or dust can cause poor connectivity.
- Power off the printer.
- Remove both printheads.
- Gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the printheads and inside the carriage with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
- Let everything dry for a few minutes before reinstalling.
2. Ensure Correct Seating
After cleaning:
- Insert the black printhead first, then the tri-color printhead.
- Press down until each one clicks firmly into place.
3. Update Printer Firmware
Outdated firmware can cause connection or detection issues.
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Go to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings (or Embedded Web Server if using a browser).
- Navigate to Tools > Printer Updates.
- Check for and install any available firmware updates.
4. Preventive Tip
Avoid powering the printer off from a wall outlet strip or surge protector. Use the power button on the printer, and ensure it remains plugged into a wall outlet directly to maintain internal configuration stability.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for the reply.
I went thru the procedure you outlined twice.
No help.
Print head icons still flashing; although on the last reset, the color head error message went away so only the black print head icon is flashing for now.
I guess my next step is a warranty claim. I still have a few months under warranty. How is that process started?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello.
I Just tried once again to contact support thru all 3 methods of contact: chat, call, call back, and whenever I hit submit nothing happens.
I've disabled VPN so that's not the problem.
Beginning to question my loyalty to HP products.
