Product: HP Officejet 6700 Premium

The printer will not print in black until I change a depleted colored cartridge.  How do I print in using only blank ink when a color cartridge needs to be replaced?

You can't on that printer model. If any colour ink cartridge is empty the printer will stop, you will not be able to print even in black.
