I successfully printed a job last week. Yesterday it started to print it again on its own and it won't stop printing it. I have tried to cancel from the machine screen and the desktop and can't stop it. It does not appear in the print job queue in Win 11 settings.

Hi @bmchan29,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet 3830 All-In-One Printer is stuck on a print job and you can't cancel it, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue.
Cancel from the Computer:
- Go to your computer's printer queue.
- Find the HP OfficeJet 3830 printer in the list of installed printers.
- Right-click on it and select "Cancel" or "Cancel All Documents."
Cancel from the Printer:
- On the printer's control panel, press the "Cancel" or "Stop" button if available. This should halt the current print job.
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off your HP OfficeJet 3830 printer.
- Unplug it from the power source and wait for about 30 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on. This will clear any pending print jobs.
Restart Your Computer:
- Sometimes, print jobs can be held up due to communication issues between the computer and the printer. Restarting your computer may help clear these issues.
Check for Paper Jams or Errors:
- Ensure there are no paper jams or error messages on the printer's display. Clear any paper jams and address any displayed errors.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Ensure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Visit the HP website and download the latest drivers if necessary.
Reset the Printer:
- As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on the printer. Please note that this will erase all settings, so use this option only if other methods don't work.
- Find the reset button or option in the printer's settings menu (refer to your printer's manual for instructions).
- Follow the instructions to reset the printer to its factory settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't had the time to sit down and work through all of your suggestions until today. I powered up the printer and was able to print some HP Printer test pages from the printer panel without seeing the old print job re-appear. Then i tried to print a new MS Word doc and kept getting an error message that the printer wasn't connected. Strangely - I was then able to scan a document using the HP app on the computer. Anyway - my PC crashed (BSOD) and I rebooted and was able to print. This HP printer has to be nearly 10 years old. I have been very happy with it and the price was somewhere around $80. I have gotten my money's worth. Time for a new printer. I will stay with HP.
