Hi @Kizmo69,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When your printer isn't printing, there could be various reasons behind it. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check Printer Connection
- Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer or network.
- If it's a wired connection, check the cables and make sure they're securely connected.
- If it's a wireless connection, ensure that your printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and that the signal is strong.
2. Printer Status
- Check if there are any error messages or warning lights on the printer's display panel. These can indicate issues such as paper jams, low ink/toner, or other problems.
- If there are any error messages, consult your printer's manual or documentation to troubleshoot them.
3. Printer Queue
- Check the print queue on your computer to see if there are any pending print jobs. Sometimes, a stuck print job can prevent new ones from being processed.
- Cancel any pending print jobs and try printing again.
4. Printer Drivers
- Ensure that you have the correct printer drivers installed on your computer. Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause printing issues.
- Visit the hp website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.
5. Paper and Ink/Toner
- Make sure that there is paper in the printer's paper tray and that it's loaded correctly.
- Check the ink or toner levels in your printer. If they're low or empty, replace them with new cartridges.
6. Restart Devices
- Try restarting both your printer and your computer. Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve temporary issues.
7. Test Print
- Print a test page directly from your printer's control panel (if available). This can help determine if the issue is with the printer itself or with the connection to your computer.
8. Check for Firmware Updates
- Visit the HP website to see if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve printing issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
