HP Photosmart 5520 Series

I am printing multiple invitations that are in PDF format. The first 10-15 come out perfect. The design goes right to the edge of the 5x7 borderless paper and they look great. Then, without rhyme or reason, all the sudden they start to print with the first few inches cut off. It's also not consistent- one prints out with half and inch of white space at the top which then cuts off the bottom of the design. Then, the next one starts printing 3 inches down the page and this goes on back and forth. Randomly I am able to get one perfect one again, and then back to screwing up the margins. I am wasting time, paper, ink, and ultimately money. No matter what setting I chose (fit to page, shrink to fit, print the PDF as an image, etc) nothing works. This has happened with three different PDFs (3 different invitations all with different designs)I have made over the past few months. I am using Google Drawings to create them initially, but after extensive research, that does not appear to be the problem. I believe it is the printer.

Hi! @sregan23,

Does the issue persist when you make a copy from your printer?

Have you tried printing using a different application? Does the issue persist?

Please share the operating system you are running on the PC to assist you better.

Try printing using a different brand of paper and check if the issue persists.

Try changing the print settings from the application you are using to print.

Also, try the steps recommended below and uninstall the full feature printer software from root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software. (Windows Only)

In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.

Select your HP printer.

Select Uninstall.

In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.

In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”

Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.

Type printui.exe /s and click OK.

Click on Drivers tab.

Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.

Update the full feature printer software using this link. Click Here

Also, try the steps recommended below.

Check the box "scale to paper size" in Printing preferences\Features tab\Resizing Options" and try printing again.

If this does not work try these steps:

1]Go to Devices And Printers.

2] Right click on your printer and click on Printing preferences.

3] click on Paper/Quality Tab.

4] select a5 in paper size.

Now check if it works.
