HP ENVY 6430e All-in-One Printer

Have an issue with Printer 6430e.  Printer console shows E6 but in fact, every single light on the thing is flashing with the error code sometimes cycling.

Assuming it is error code E6; it is supposed to imply a document/paper feed error.   Nothing, Tried everything and more that the virtual assistants recommend but to no avail.

Anyone any ideas?

Hi @Morpion,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're dealing with a persistent issue on your HP ENVY 6430e printer with multiple lights flashing and an E6 error code indicating a document or paper feed problem. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue.

Check for Jammed Paper:

  • Turn off the printer and carefully check inside for any jammed paper or foreign objects that could be obstructing the paper path.
  • Remove any jammed paper if found, including small bits that may have torn off.

Reset the Printer:

  • Power off the printer completely.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds, then power it back on.
  • This can sometimes clear temporary errors and reset the printer's internal mechanisms.

Check Paper Alignment:

  • Make sure the paper stack in the tray is aligned properly and not exceeding the maximum capacity specified for the printer.

Clean the Paper Feed Rollers:

  • If you can access them (usually from the rear or underneath the printer), clean the paper feed rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water. Dust or debris on the rollers can cause feed issues.

Update or Reinstall Printer Firmware:

  • Sometimes, updating the printer's firmware can resolve operational issues. Check HP's support website for the latest firmware for your HP ENVY 6430e model.

Check for Sensor Issues:

  • Sensors that detect paper jams or paper presence could be malfunctioning. Ensure they are clean and free from any obstruction.

By systematically checking and addressing each of these potential causes, you should hopefully resolve the E6 error and get your HP ENVY 6430e printer back to normal operation.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
