I'm getting an error on the display panel.  It's a blue screen with the familiar "o" with a line through it (icon for power button) and the code: B80001C4.

 

Typically, I just unplug the printer for 20 seconds, plug it back in, and it works.  But this error code shows up all by itself when I'm not even in the room with the printer.

 

What at the root of this problem?  Thanks.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. 

 

Try these steps -

 

1) Take out the cartridges.

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Wait for 30 seconds. 

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

 

If the issue still persists, I have sent you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
