HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e All-in-One Printer

My printer will not allow me to print. I turn the printer on and it shows main screen for about 1 min, then shifts to an error screen displaying:

There is a problem with the printer or print system. Turn the printer off, the on. If you continue to get this message, contact support.

Please let me know how to master reset or fix this error.

@storksjc, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Here's a step-by-step guide to help resolve the error message on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e All-in-One Printer that says:

"There is a problem with the printer or print system. Turn the printer off, then on. If you continue to get this message, contact support."

This issue is often related to the ink system or internal hardware. Here's how to troubleshoot it:

Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back in and turn the printer on.

If the error persists, continue to the next step.

Ensure the Printer is Level

  • Place a small round object (like a marble or ball bearing) on top of the printer.
  • If it rolls, the printer is not level. Adjust the surface or printer feet until the object stays still.

Check Ink Cartridges and Printhead

  • Open the printer access door.
  • Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges to ensure they are seated properly.
  • If any cartridge is low or empty, replace it.
  • If the error persists, try replacing all cartridges with new ones.

Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

If the printer connects to a network:

  • Find the printer’s IP address from the control panel (if accessible).
  • Enter the IP address in a web browser to open the Embedded Web Server.
  • Check for any supply or system errors reported there.
