Hi @Watz82,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code FO.01.01.02 on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9730 typically indicates a hardware issue, often related to the printer’s internal components or firmware. Since you've already done extensive troubleshooting and this is your second replacement printer, here are some additional steps and considerations:

**1. Check for Firmware Updates

  • Firmware Update: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve hardware-related issues. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the printer's web interface.

**2. Verify Printer Settings

  • Paper Settings: Ensure that the paper settings in the printer's settings menu match the type and size of paper you are using.
  • Print Quality Settings: Sometimes, incorrect print quality settings can cause errors. Make sure they are set to standard or recommended settings.

**3. Check for Hardware Issues

  • Printer Internals: Inspect the inside of the printer for any visible issues, such as paper jams or foreign objects.
  • Cartridges: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and that none of them are leaking or damaged.

**4. Reset the Printer

  • Factory Reset: Perform a factory reset on the printer. This can sometimes resolve persistent hardware errors. Refer to your printer’s manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.

**5. Power Cycle

  • Complete Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for at least 1-2 minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

@Rachel571 Thanks for your reply. I had the IT remotely done the firmware updates on the printer. Done all the necessary set up and it does not work, error message still pop up after few prints. I have no connectivity issue with my other HP printer; only ever since the OfficeJet Pro 9730 being replaced for the 3rd time, the same printer error message appears. Somehow this model is not compatible or there is hardware issue. I have been chasing HP customer relation to compensate me for the inconvenience and have another alternate model to be replace but until now no one from HP call me on this. Very disappointing with their service level. Are you from one of the HP Support department?
