Hi @Shugarpye,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the error code 0x61000072 on your HP OfficeJet 4650 All-in-One Printer typically points to a hardware issue related to the ink system or a general printer malfunction.
Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve this issue:
1. Power Reset
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on to see if the error persists.
2. Check Ink Cartridges
- Open the ink cartridge access door.
- Remove both cartridges (black and color).
- Inspect the cartridges for any ink leaks, damage, or debris. Clean any ink residue with a lint-free cloth.
- Reseat the cartridges firmly in place and close the access door.
- Restart the printer and see if the error clears.
3. Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions
- Open all access panels and check for any bits of paper or other obstructions inside the printer.
- Make sure the carriage (the part that holds the cartridges) moves freely across the printer.
4. Clean the Printhead
- If the ink cartridges are not the issue, the printhead might need cleaning. You can clean the printhead through the printer's control panel:
- On the printer's display, go to Settings → Tools → Clean Printhead.
- Follow the on-screen prompts.
5. Firmware Update Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up-to-date by checking on HP's support website for any available updates. An outdated firmware can sometimes cause errors.
6. Hard Reset
- Disconnect the printer from any connected devices (USB or network).
- Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the printer and power it back on.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
