Event Cod 71.02.4A -- printer failure and won't print.

 

So far, I have followed the instruction in this thread:  https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printing-Errors-or-Lights-Stuck-Print-Jobs/Event-code-71-02-4A/m-p/823... :

1.  power cycling, several times

2.  inspected carriage path -- no obstructions other than one strand of hair

3. attempted to move carriage -- it moves only about a quarter inch

4.  unplugged and replugged

printer software is up-to-date -- when I attempted to install latest firmware update, got a message it was already installed

 

still receiving error message.
