HP Officejet Pro 8625 e-All-in-One Printer

The printer displays a message that says, “There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn printer off, then on. If problem persists, contact HP.” I have tried to turn the printer off and back on, unplugged it for a while, and nothing worked. it says online to check the EWS with IP address but the display is locked on the one screen and I cannot do anything. I need it fixed ASAP but cannot get in contact with ANYONE!

Hi @brian23237,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've already tried some basic troubleshooting steps without success. Since you're unable to access the Embedded Web Server (EWS) due to the locked screen, it may indicate a more serious hardware issue with your printer.

Here are a few additional steps you can try.

  • Check for Obstructions: Ensure there are no paper jams or obstructions inside the printer that could be causing the error.
  • Inspect Ink Cartridges: Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges to ensure they are properly seated. Also, check if any of the cartridges are low or empty and replace them if necessary.
  • Reset the Printer: Try performing a hard reset on the printer. To do this, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer while it is still turned on. Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug the power cord back in. Turn on the printer and see if the error persists.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: If possible, check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. Updating the firmware may resolve certain issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
