While trying to print a 4x6 card stock file I received a variety of error messages including the subject failure message, Improper Shutdown and Paper Jam. I tried all the troubleshooting procedures I could find but I continue getting the same variety of results. I'm ready to call it quits but as a last resort I thought I would try this forum.
The Virtual Agent recommended removing the ink cartridges and restarting/resetting the printer. They state that "It might be necessary to manually slide the carriage to access the cartridges". Unfortunately I could not move the carriage to remove the ink cartridges.
Any advice would be welcome. I really don't want to invest in a new printer.

@kmay22, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand you are not able to print due to this error.
Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - '0xc19a0005' or Similar Error Code Displays
Also, check if there are any jams inside the printer, refer to - Paper Jam Error
Check if the print carriage is moving freely. Refer to 'Carriage Jam' or 'E3' Error Displays
Now, try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue. If the printer makes a copy, the hardware is fine.
If the issue persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware failure. Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options for your printer.
You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.

I have tried all the recommended procedures. Unfortunately nothing works. One solution I read was to remove the ink cartridges to reset the printer. The instructions said to manually move the cartridges to the center to allow access but I am unable to do that. It appears that they are stuck where they are. I continue to receive a message that there is a paper jam which there isn't one and also another message that comes up is that the printer was not shut down properly. When I began having this problem I was trying to print on 4x6 cardstock. I have done this in the past without any issues but maybe that is what started the problem.
Is there anything else you can recommend? I appreciate any help you can offer.

I understand your concern. However, there are no other steps to be performed to resolve this issue. The print carriage is stuck and this is a hardware failure.
You will have to get the printer replaced or buy a new one.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.
