I have an HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a printer.  After replacing two color cartridges, my printer would not work.  The error message says:  "There is a problem with the printer or ink system.  Turn printer off, then on.  If problem persists, contact HP."

Sandytechy20, an HP support agent, had instructions posted 6-19-2022 for possible correction of the problem.  I did all of them.  I still have the same message.  I must admit that I am not using HP ink cartridges, but that has never been an issue before.  Has anyone else gotten this issue resolved without going to a technician?  If yes, what worked?

Even if you went to the technician, what did s/he say the issue was?

I have never had a problem before with this printer/scanner.   It is now 8 yrs old ($200 at purchase).  Is it worth it to take it to a technician or should I just bite the bullet and get a new one?  Thanks for any help you might have for me.

Thank you, Willjoe.  I tried all of your suggestions, which had been previously made by an HP employee.  Nothing worked.  This has been a good all-in-one printer, but since it is now 8 yrs old, I have decided to purchase a new printer.  I just don't think it's worth it to take it to a repair shop.  Thank you anyway.
